Chinese Herbal Medicine

Western medicine principally relies on pharmaceuticals. These work by altering your body’s function in such a way to alleviate symptoms.

Sometimes, this results in unintended immediate side effects (such as nausea) or long-term effects that may be difficult to initially perceive (such as toxicity).

In contrast, Chinese Herbal Medicine is a system that combines multiple herbs (plants, minerals, and sometimes animals) into one synergistic and individualized formula. By combining multiple herbs, it decreases the likelihood of undesirable side effects.

Additionally, whereas pharmaceuticals “take over” your body’s function in order to alleviate your symptoms, using herbs as your medicine actually stimulates your own inherent ability to heal.

Think of each herb within your formula as giving a gentle nudge, guiding your body back towards its own restoration and healing.

The goal is not for you to need herbal formulas for the rest of your life. The goal is for you to use herbal formulas to “get back on track” and help your body to function at its full potential.
